Cookies are small text files that may be stored on your device when you visit a website. They can help websites function, remember certain preferences, improve performance or understand basic visitor behaviour.

Similar technologies may include local storage, session storage, pixels, scripts or other tools that store or access information on a device.

Lesson progress and theme preferences use first-party browser storage independently of site statistics. Search and learning content remain available when you turn off statistics.

For lesson and blog likes, first-party local storage keeps a random token and your liked state for each item. A separate local marker prevents a repeat view after five seconds of visible reading. Resource likes also use item-specific tokens. Shared counts use server-stored token hashes. These counters are separate from site statistics.

Bookmarks stay in local storage for your Saved list. Shared bookmark totals use a separate random token for each saved item and a server-stored hash. Saves and removals are sent independently of site statistics; failed updates are retried when you return online.

If you object to first-party site statistics, an opt-out cookie lasts for up to 180 days. The local-storage choice remains until you change it or clear site data. The choice contains no visitor identifier.

Admin authentication, CMS preview and operational security may use separate cookies or technical processing. These are not controlled by the site-statistics setting.

Operational and security logs help protect and maintain the website. Application diagnostics are bounded and sanitised to avoid collecting full URLs, URL query strings, cookies or credentials.

We use first-party statistics to understand page visits, lesson use and actions so we can improve this website. The database stores daily totals, not individual event logs or visitor journeys. This is not used for advertising, profiling or retargeting.

A temporary marker in your browser session avoids counting the same browser tab as a new session on every page. That marker is not sent to the server. No visitor or session identifier is sent or stored in the site-statistics database.

Statistics do not receive typed search queries. Page context contains the pathname only; query strings and fragments are removed. Broad country and device categories contribute separate daily totals and are not linked to an individual browsing history.

The first statistic in a browser tab also records how the visit arrived, reduced to a broad category (for example direct, Google, Facebook, email or an AI assistant) and, when a link carries one, its utm_campaign tag. The full referring address and the rest of the link are never sent. Reading-time and scroll-depth thresholds, whether a search found results (never the words), and a good / needs-improvement / poor page-speed rating are counted as daily totals in the same way.

File downloads contribute per-resource daily totals and broad country, device and operating-system breakdowns. Repeat downloads count again; we do not use these figures to identify individual people.

You can turn off site statistics using the control above. Turning them off stops future statistics requests from this browser; turning them back on does not replay past activity. Previously created daily totals cannot be linked back to you.

Data Driven Insights does not currently use marketing, advertising or retargeting cookies.

If this changes in the future, this policy will be updated and appropriate consent controls will be added where required.

The website may rely on trusted third-party services for hosting, domain management, DNS, email routing, security, deployment or performance. These services may process limited technical information as part of providing their services.

Examples may include hosting and deployment platforms, domain and DNS providers, and email routing providers.

Use the control above to turn site statistics off or on. The Cookie Policy link in the footer lets you return here later. Your choice updates other open tabs where browser storage events are available.

Changing the statistics setting does not clear lesson progress or change your theme. Clearing all site storage may remove progress and theme preferences as well as your opt-out choice.

This Cookie Policy may be updated as the website grows, especially if newsletters, downloadable resources, embedded media, forms, third-party analytics or additional services are added.
