We only collect limited personal information. This may include:

When you contact us, we use the information you provide to respond to your enquiry. Separate technical, operational and security processing supports website delivery and protection.

First-party site statistics are on by default to help improve the website. You can turn them off for free on the Cookie Policy page. This choice does not affect content access, search, lesson progress, theme preferences or essential security logging.

We keep email enquiries only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, manage communication and keep basic records. Messages that are no longer needed may be deleted.

The statistics opt-out cookie lasts for up to 180 days; the local-storage choice remains until you change it or clear site data. A temporary browser-tab marker avoids repeatedly counting the same tab as a new session; it is never sent to the server. The statistics database stores daily totals rather than individual visitor records.

The former individual analytics events and visitor-session records were removed in October 2026. Current site statistics retain daily aggregate totals without individual event histories.

We do not sell personal information. We may use trusted service providers to operate the website and communication systems, such as:

• Website hosting and deployment providers.
• Domain and DNS providers.
• Email routing or email service providers.
• Security, performance or analytics tools.

These providers may process limited information as part of delivering their services.

Lesson progress and theme preferences are stored separately from your site-statistics opt-out. They continue to work when statistics are off. The opt-out uses first-party local storage and a cookie.

Lesson pages show shared view and like totals. A view is counted after a lesson remains visible for five seconds, separately from site statistics. Pressing Like is an explicit action. A random, lesson-specific browser token limits each action to one count per browser; the server stores a hash of that token. Clearing browser storage can allow another count.

Resources also show shared like totals. Pressing Like uses a random resource-specific browser token, stored as a hash on the server, to limit likes to one per browser. Clearing browser storage can allow another count.

Blog articles also show shared view and like totals. A blog view is counted after five seconds of visible reading. Their browser tokens and server-stored hashes are separate from those used for lessons and resources.

Bookmarks remain in this browser for your Saved list. Shared bookmark totals use a separate token hash specific to the item. Saves and removals work separately from site statistics; the server does not receive your full Saved list or lesson progress.

Site statistics count daily page visits, learning actions and broad country/device categories without storing individual event histories, visitor IDs, session IDs, typed search queries, URL queries or fragments. We do not fingerprint visitors or use IP addresses as a statistics identity.

Daily totals also cover the broad category a visit arrived from (such as direct, a search engine, a social network, email or an AI assistant), campaign tags on links we share, reading-time and scroll-depth thresholds, whether searches found results, and page-speed ratings. Referring addresses, search words and exact timings are not stored.

For downloadable resources, we count successful file deliveries per file and keep daily aggregate country, device type and operating-system totals. Repeat downloads count again; these figures do not identify how many distinct people downloaded a file. The site-statistics opt-out also stops future download counting.

Operational and security logging is separate from site statistics. Application diagnostics are bounded and sanitised; hosting and security providers may also process technical information to deliver and protect the website.

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights under UK data protection law, including the right to:

• Request access to personal information we hold about you.
• Ask for inaccurate information to be corrected.
• Ask for information to be deleted in certain circumstances.
• Ask us to restrict or stop certain processing.
• Object to certain uses of your information.
